Ultrasound exams we provide
General Ultrasound
Imaging internal organs throughout the body, such as, abdominal organs, reproductive systems, urinary systems and soft tissue. Please see preparation area for your exam
Vascular Ultrasound
Imaging of veins throughout the body to examine blood flow and to assess for any blood clots. No preparation is required
Thyroid Ultrasound
Ultrasound is used to assess the thyroid gland and other structures within the neck. No preparation is required
Testicular/Scrotal Ultrasound
Imaging of the scrotum may be preformed to assess swelling, reasons for pain and or lumps. No preparation is required
Obstetrical Ultrasound
Imaging and examination of anatomy and growth for fetus. Please see preparation area for your exam
Musculoskeletal Ultrasound
Examines joints, tendons and muscles. No preparation is required.
Patient Information
- Bring a valid health card and this requisition.
- Do not bring children who require supervision.
- Arrive a few minutes early for your appointment.
- Call if you are unable to keep your appointment.
- Kindly advise us of any limitation of mobility prior to appointment.
- Stay on prescribed medication.
PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS - The following is to ensure the quality of the ultrasound
General
Abdomen and Pelvic – Combined
DO NOT eat, drink, or chew gum for 8 hours before appointment.
Morning medication should be taken with a small amount of water.
DRINK a minimum of 1L (32oz) of water 1.5 hours before your appointment. FINISH all water 1 hour before appointment.
DO NOT EMPTY BLADDER until after appointment – a full bladder is necessary for the appointment.
Obstetrical
1st Tri
DRINK a minimum of 1L (32oz) of water 1.5 hours before your appointment. FINISH all water 1 hour before appointment.
DO NOT EMPTY BLADDER until after appointment – a full bladder is necessary for the appointment. You may eat regular meals/snacks.
2nd Tri
A partially full bladder is necessary for the appointment. DRINK a minimum of 500mL (16oz) water before appointment. FINISH all water 45 min before appointment.
DO NOT EMPTY BLADDER until after appointment. You may eat regular meals/snacks.
3rd Tri
A partially full bladder is necessary for the appointment. DRINK a minimum of 500mL (16oz) water before appointment. FINISH all water 45 min before appointment.
DO NOT EMPTY BLADDER until after appointment.
Ensure you EAT something before appointment.
Results
All results are sent in a timely manner. All diagnostic reports can be found on the patient’s ehealth account or you can contact your referring physician.
